A story of two teens, brother and sister, who live with their dying mother in a rundown mansion in Zacatecas, sustain by a dangerously dependent relationship. The death of their mother and the arrival of another boy set off a painful confrontation between the siblings, who are obliged to examin their attitutudes about love, homosexuality, and fraternal links. Burn the Bridges is a reflection on the sexual awakening of young people in a conservative Catholic environment that encloses them and forces them to choose between staying trapped in the past and living out their dreams. Beautiful colonial scenery, exquisite photography, and music by the Grammy winner Julieta Venegas make this film a prize winner.
